The Canadian Ecology Centre and the North-Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority are excited to offer fun-filled day camps for children ages 6 - 12.  
Camp will be held at the NBMCA’s Natural Classroom and Laurentian Escarpment Conservation Area located at 15 Janey Avenue in North Bay.

Camps will offer different activities and games, so that children can enjoy a varied program if attending all sessions.

Dates: Monday July 23 - Friday July 27, 2017 AND Monday August 13 - Friday August 17, 2018

A 5-day program designed for younger children to enhance their understanding, knowledge and appreciation of our natural environment. Each day offers different themes and activities including:

  • Wilderness Survival skills (ie. knots, shelters, etc...)
  • Nature awareness activities, games and crafts
  • Treasure and Scavenger Hunts
  • Outdoor games and hikes
  • Science experiments and activities


Ages: 9 - 12

Dates:  Monday July 9 - Friday July 13, 2018

A 5-day program designed for older children and pre-teens to develop leadership skills with an ecological twist! Each day offers different themes and activities including:

  • Wilderness Survival skills (ie. traditional fire starting methods, knots, shelters, etc...)
  • Learn how to lead Nature awareness activities, games and crafts
  • Geocaching (learn basic map, compass and GPS skills and set-up your own geocaching challenge)
  • Outdoor games and hikes (incorporating teamwork and leadership skills)
  • Plus much more...

Explore your creatively wild side with visual and dramatic arts, music and movement in our NEWEST 4 day camp. Find new ways to express yourself using nature to inspire and move you.

  • Creative crafts and art projects
  • Drumming and music in nature
  • Theatrics and improv

Get outside and find new ways to creatively express yourself using nature to inspire and move you.

Campers are required to bring their own NUT FREE snacks, lunch and drinks.

Transportation to the site is NOT provided.

A CANCELLATION fee (50% of total cost or total daily cost) will be charged for any cancellations made less than 1 week from camp start date, regardless of reason. Full refunds will be given in the event that the CEC cancels a camp date due to low enrollment or inclement weather
