| FedNor, the Northern Ontario economic development arm of Industry Canada, has provided significant financial support to the development of The Canadian Ecology Centre. Community Economic Development Officer Carmen DeMarco has been an enthusiastic supporter, as has Secretary General Louise Paquette. Nipissing MP Bob Wood has played a strong role by encouraging and coordinating FedNor's involvement. FedNor is also providing financial support for a community portal Internet initiative coordinated by the CEC. | ||
| Tembec Inc. continues to be a driving force behind the evolution of The Canadian Ecology Centre. Tembec is a founding corporate partner and provided significant financial support to Phases 1 and 2 of construction. Tembec has launched a major forest research project, housed at the CEC. Tembec is represented on the board of directors of the CEC. | |||
| The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation provided $3.5 million in grants plus a $500,000 loan to The Canadian Ecology Centre. Former Ontario Premier Mike Harris, then Deputy Premier and Treasurer Ernie Eves, and then Minister of Northern Development and Mines Chris Hodgson and NOHFC General Manager Royal Poulin attended a news conference at the CEC in February 1998 to announce the $3 million funding. Former Minister Dan Newman announced a further $500,000 loan and $500,000 grant. | |||
| Columbia Forest Products Ltd. is a founding corporate partner of The Canadian Ecology Centre. Its Rutherglen veneer mill is situated close by and Columbia is represented on the CEC Board of Directors. Columbia was a financial supporter for Phases 1 and 2 of the CEC's construction and continues to play an active role through board involvement and donation of materials. People walking the CEC paths comment on how nice they are to walk on. That effect was created with 85 truckloads of wood chips from Columbia's Rutherglen plant. | |||
| Human Resources and Skills Development Canada has contributed more than $2 million toward construction of The Canadian Ecology Centre, in cash and through subsidized labour. Staff member Luc Desbiens worked closely with CEC staff through the initial construction period and has been a great help in moving the project forward. | |||

| Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) Canada have donated the newest in Geographic Information Systems software to The Canadian Ecology Centre for students to learn how to use GIS and its applications. | |||
