ABOUT ROY MACGREGOR

Paddle and Prose Fundraising Event – WEEKEND PACKAGE OPTION 

  • Paddle to beautiful and historic Talon Chutes with Backroads Bill and Roy MacGregor on Saturday –  leaving at 10am from Pimisi Bay along Hwy 17*
  • Enjoy Saturday dinner (event begins at 5pm) followed by a book talk and an evening around the campfire.
  • Bar service , silent auction and raffle prizes (cash, debit and credit accepted)
  • Wake up and enjoy an optional Sunday morning paddle at the CEC and visit a cold water stream.
  • Includes up to 2 nights accommodation (Stay Friday and Saturday night and make it a weekend), Saturday Dinner & Sunday Continental Breakfast.
  • Bring your own canoe, or we can provide at an additional cost of $15/person per canoe trip.

*Participants are NOT required to go on any canoe excursions (completely optional) if you prefer to attend the Fundraiser Dinner/Talk portion only

*The canoe excursion will last approximately 3 hours. Food and drink will not be provided, participants are required to provide their own as we will breaking for lunch during the excursion.

  • Enjoy hearing stories and adventures from Author and avid canoeist, Roy MacGregor.   Join us at 7pm for silent auction and raffle prizes (cash, debit and credit accepted) with talk to start promptly at 7:30pm to about 8:30/9:00pm.
NOTE: The paddling portion of this event is completely optional, but we encourage all interested participants to join us! Please be aware that participants should have some basic canoe experience (as this is not an intro to canoeing program) and be comfortable/able to get in and out of a boat. Talon chutes has a rocky and uneven terrain. For those who are interested in exploring the area, it is recommended to have good closed toed footwear and be physically able. Children are welcome to attend, provided that they are supervised by experienced paddlers (ie. their parents)
