A Brush With Nature – Plein Air Painting Experience

Located on the historic Mattawa River, the Canadian Ecology Centre will be home base for this plein air art retreat.

Come explore the natural wonders of the area, set up your easel and paint amongst the outstanding fall colours with local artist Gail Grossmith.

~ Appropriate for Intermediate (+) level artists ~ Open for all mediums (Oil. Acrylic, Watercolours) ~

Arriving by noon on Thursday for lunch, we will head out to explore the area, do a bit of sketching and prepare for the next two days of painting. On Friday we will set up our easels on sites surrounding the CEC to capture the fall foliage. There will be an option on Saturday to paddle Pimisi Bay to paint by The Talon Lake Chutes. Evenings will be filled with art critiques and talks around the campfire about the history of the Mattawa area, the Group of Seven and Emily Carr. Indoor facilities can accommodate painting if required due to inclement weather. Don’t miss this exceptional Plein Air painting experience.
