We have reopened!

The CEC reopened on May 8 in concert with Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park’s 2026 operating season, after almost a year without revenue, following the EF2 downburst storm on June 21, 2025.

The CEC is non profit outdoor environmental education centre, and receives no operating subsidies from any government.

The CEC’s future is still in dire straits financially.  We need $500,000 to keep the CEC alive.

How can you help? – Keep Supporting the CEC by attending an event, signing your child up for a camp/course, share our message or consider donating to our charitable foundation.

We’re thrilled to once again welcome guests to the Canadian Ecology Centre. Whether you’re planning a peaceful retreat or an outdoor adventure, our new online reservation system makes booking your stay easier than ever.

The Canadian Ecology Centre is located in Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park in Calvin Township, which is situated in the unceded territory of the Algonquin people.

We acknowledge and thank the original and continuing caretakers of this land, the Algonquin people who have lived in this area since time immemorial. We recognize their continuing connection to the land and pay our respects to elders, past, present, and emerging.
