Our Day Camps are hosted at the stunning Laurentian Escarpment Conservation Area, campers will discover forest trails, hidden streams, ancient rocks, and secret animal hideouts while learning wilderness skills, playing games, building friendships, and sparking a lifelong love for the natural world.

FOREST EXPLORERS DAY CAMP (Ages 6-8)

 Imagination. Exploration. Discovery.

At Forest Day Camp, every day is a new adventure waiting to happen! Designed especially for curious young minds, this camp invites children to connect with the land, follow their sense of wonder, and become confident explorers of the great outdoors.

Price: $250 incl HST

Location: At the Laurentian Escarpment Conservation Area located at 15 Janey Avenue in North Bay.

Time: 9am – 4pm (early drop off 8:30am/late pick up 4:30pm)

Ages: 6 – 8 (kids entering grades 1-3 this September, kids entering SK in September MAY be permitted to attend if they have have an older sibling attending the same camp).

  • At the NBMCA in the Natural Classroom:
    • Session 1: Monday July 6 – Friday July 10, 2026
    • Session 2: Monday July 13 – Friday July 17, 2026
    • Session 3: Monday July 20 – Friday July 24, 2026
    • Session 4: Monday July 27 – Friday July 31, 2026
    • Session 5: No Camp
    • Session 6: No Camp
    • Session 7: Monday August 17 – Friday August 21, 2026

NEW! FOREST ADVENTURERS DAY CAMP (Ages 9-12)

Adventure calls! This camp is built for older kids ready to take on bigger challenges—like navigation, map reading, survival skills, nature science investigations, and more. Expect teamwork, wild discoveries, and memories that last a lifetime.

Price: $250 incl HST

Step into leadership this summer with our Forest Leaders Day Camp—a 4‑day adventure designed for curious and capable youth ready to grow their confidence and connection with nature. Participants will explore leadership through land-based learning, hands-on nature skills, and team challenges that inspire collaboration and problem-solving in the outdoors.

PAYMENT/CANCELLATION POLICY

Payment Policy

  • A non refundable deposit of $25 applies to all camp session registrations.
  • The balance for all July camps is due June 1, 2026.
  • The balance for all August Camps is due July 1, 2026.
  • Credit card payments will be subject to a non-refundable 1% processing fee.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by Families: Refunds for cancellations initiated by families will follow the schedule below:

  • For July Camps:
    • Before June 1, 2026: Refund of all payments minus the $25 deposit for each camp (non-transferable).
    • After June 1, 2026 up to 7 days before camp start date: Refund fee of 50% of total cost (including deposit) will be charged.
    • Within 7 days of camp start date: No refund will be issued and fees will be non-transferable.
  • For August Camps:
    • Before July 1, 2026: Refund of all payments minus the $25 deposit for each camp (non-transferable).
    • After July 1, 2026 up to 7 days before camp start date: Refund fee of 50% of total cost (including deposit) will be charged.
    • Within 7 days of camp start date: No refund will be issued and fees will be non-transferable.

Cancellation by the Canadian Ecology Centre: If a camp is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the CEC’s control—such as natural disasters, severe weather, government-mandated closures/Civil Authority, or other Force Majeure events—the following will apply:

  • During a Camp: If a camp session is already in progress, no refunds will be provided.
  • Prior to camp start:
    • Initial Refund: 50% of all course fees paid (minus the non-refundable deposits and any credit card fees) will be refunded.
    • Remaining Balance: The remaining 50% is non-refundable, but may be:
      • Transferred as a credit for future programs or services (valid for up to 2 years), or
      • Donated to the Canadian Ecology Centre Education Foundation, in which case a charitable tax receipt will be issued.

Withdrawals During a Camp: No refunds will be issued if a camper is sent home or voluntarily withdraws once a camp has begun.

Transfers from previous years: Some families may have a portion of their camp fees transferred from a previous year.

  • These transferred amounts remain non-refundable and are only eligible to be used as a credit for up to two years from the original cancellation date.
  • If a family cancels a 2026 registration that includes a transferred balance from a previous year:Any new payments made for 2026 will be treated according to the 2026 cancellation policy and timelines.
  • Any transferred balance from a previous year will not be refunded under the 2026 policy and will continue to follow the original cancellation terms and expiry date.
  • Transferred balances cannot be “converted” into a refund by registering and then cancelling under a later year’s policy.

Financial Transparency: The Canadian Ecology Centre is a non-profit organization and does not have sufficient operational reserves to provide full refunds in the event of an emergency shutdown. Refunds and transfers will be processed as soon as operationally and financially feasible, and families will be kept informed of timelines and limitations.
