Join the CEC for a week of fun! Participate in as much or as little as you like. Take part in great Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park Discovery Programs during your stay!
Stay for just a night or come for the whole week! The length of stay is up to you!
FAMILY CAMP WEEKLONG EVENT
Everyone is welcome! All day and evening activities are free with your cabin rental.
- Guided Labyrinth and Forest Bathing Walks
- Educational Programs on Regenerataion, Climate Change and Extreme Weather (What is a downburst?)
- Nature Crafts and Nature Exploration
- GPS Treasure Hunt
- Wilderness Survival
- Campfires and Story Sharing

*A Provincial Park Daily Pass is required with your cabin stay. (Pass can be added with your reservation). This pass gives you access to all the park amenties and Discovery Programs as well!

Your reservation includes access to:
- Shared-use kitchen cooking facility
- Campfire Pit
- Indoor Social Space with board games, puzzles and WiFi
Rates and Cancellation Policy
RATES:
- Sun to Thur: $125/night + HST (Sun Aug 3, Sept 7, Oct 11 excluded)
- Fri & Sat: $150/night + HST (plus Sun Aug 3, Sept 7, Oct 11)
Deposit: A non refundable payment of 10% of the total amount of your stay is due upon booking.
- no later than 7 days prior to your check in time will be refunded all monies paid minus 10%.
- within 7 days to 24 hours prior to your arrival date will be refunded 50% of your booking cost.
- Less than 24 hours before check in date will receive no refund.
- Non refundable pet fee of $50/stay (2 pets MAX)
- refundable cleaning/damage deposit of $250
- Limited cabins available, first come, first serve

CEC Led Programs are outlined in GREEN and all take place from the Main Building.

Big Canoe Tours at Samuel de Champlain are typically offered Wed, Thurs, Sat and Sun from 10am to 1pm. Pre-reservation is required.
WED - AUG 12
Afternoon Activity
*Park Program – Finger Weaving (2:30-3:30pm)
Evening Activity (7:00 – 8:30 pm)
Campfire Program – Enjoy S’mores and Spider Weiners around the fire along with campfire songs, riddles and stories.
THURS - AUG 13
Morning Activity (10am to 10:30am)
Nature Wood Craft – try out some wood burning tools and/or paint a souvenir wood piece.
*Park Program (11-11:30am) – Tools of the Trade
Afternoon Activity (1pm to 2:30pm)
GPS Scavenger Hunt – learn the basic skills of how to use a GPS and try out a geocaching treasure hunt

FRI - AUG 14
Morning Activity (10am to 12pm)
Forest Bathing – Experience a sensory nature walk to increase your connection to the land (optional barefoot walk)

*Park Program (2-3:30pm) – On the Land: History, Archeology and Plant teachings.
Evening Activity (7:00-8:30pm)
*Park Program (5-6pm) – Science North Live Show
Campfire Program! – Come learn how to bake around the fire (make a banana boat or a brownie in an orange)
SAT - AUG 15
Morning Program (9:00-10:30am)
Nature Craft – Make a Gem Tree! First hunt for the perfect rock and then learn how to attach small gem stones to wire to create your own tree creation!

Afternoon Program (1pm to 2pm)
Nature Explorers – Visit our nature classroom to learn about different species of plant and animals, look through microscopes and play some nature games!

What’s up with Weather? – learn about weather terminology, climate and severe weather events (including the downburst of June 2025). Build a cloud in a bottle and build/take home a cloud finder!
*Park Program – Migration Mission (2:30-3:30pm)
Evening Program (7:00 – 8:30 pm):
Starry night and Galaxy Painting – Learn about the night sky and find constellations at dark with your very own star finder and make a souvenir galaxy painting
TUES - AUG 18
Morning Program (9am-10:30am)
Nature Walk – Learn about forest regenaration and regrowth through a guided walk. Visit our look-out!

Evening Program (7:00 – 8:30 pm)
Campfire Drumming – Join us around the fire for song and drum circle using various drums and instruments.

WED - AUG 19
Morning Program (9-10:30am)
Labyrinth – Enjoy a mindful walk through the Labyrinth with a guided sensory connection activity.
